Refugee Week Celebrations at Cecal

June 25, 2015 by canterburygreens

Cr Linda Eisler, Canterbury Greens and President of Canterbury Earlwood Caring Assoc (CECAL) Janice Hall, and Aboriginal elder Aunty Viv were at Cecal’s Refugee week celebrations. Canterbury Girls HS did the best rendition (with drums) that Cr Eisler has ever heard. Horizon Theatre’s video prompted Cr Eisler to do an impromptu speech on how hard it would be to leave your country, family and friends, when she would find it too difficult to even move interstate, or, suburb. She asked those there to imagine the move for themselves. Some of the refugees attending thanked her for her speech and found it a powerful comparison.
